Salvia Officinalis 'Berggarten'

HAT COLOUR: Silver

SPECIAL QUALITIES: A tough, drought tolerant plant with a compact, decorative habit.

FLOWERS:  Purple spikes but rarely seen
 

PLANTS NEEDED PER SQUARE METRE: 6-8
 

HABIT: A compact mounded perennial comprising a dense ball of oval shaped, sage green leaves.

POSITION & USES: Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Berggarten Sage will grow in poor soil but responds to soil improvement. Can be used as a foliage foil amongst flowering plants, as a neat border or in containers. Also a good culinary sage.

CULTIVATION: Easily grown in most garden situations. Prune regularly by off 8cm to 10cm of new growth. Do not cut too hard or in late autumn/winter.

FERTILISING: Regular applications of Seasol and PowerFeed will keep it looking its best.
