HAT COLOURS - Pink, Red, Purple, Blue, White
SPECIAL QUALITIES: Penstemons are an excellent garden plant. It is easy to grow, attractive for most of the year and flowers generously. Native birds use it as a food source.
FLOWERS: The tubular flowers are produced along upright stems from late spring to autumn and into winter in milder climates.
PLANTS NEEDED PER SQUARE METRE: 4-6
HABIT: A bushy perennial plant with upright stems that bear the tubular flowers.
POSITION & USES: Penstemons work well with other perennials and lower growing shrubs, in large pots and the garden. They prefer a sunny position and normal garden soil with good drainage
CULTIVATION: For best results fertilize at the beginning of spring. During winter prune to a woody frame about 30cm from the ground
FERTILISING: Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.
