Basil Green Ruffles

Ocimum ‘Green Ruffles’

The rich-green leaves of 'Green Ruffles' are sharply serrated, puckered, and larger than those of the common sweet basil. In summer, the plant carries spikes of whorled, pale-pink flowers.

Growing Tips: Choose a sunny site with well-drained soil, amend with well-rotted manure or compost.

Position: Part to Full Sun

Height: 60cm Width: 40cm

Lifespan: Annual

Use: The leaves are equally fragrant and said to particularly enhance the flavour of tomato dishes. It tastes of sweet aniseed and mint. Perfect for salads.

Harvest: Regularly, the more you harvest the more it will produce. If kept warm and harvested often you may even get 10 months worth of Basil leaves.
